The Global vulnerability intelligence platform project was formed in the spring of 2025, when there was a hiccup in the funding of the CVE program. Many members in various organisations started discussing the situation and we agreed that a long term plan must be formed to get a stabile platform for vulnerability information. While many databases will continue to exist, there needs to be a shared set of formats, protocols and governance standards.
Members so far are:
- OWASP Foundation
- Open Source Security Foundation, part of Linux Foundation
- Eclipse Foundation and the Open Regulatory Compliance working group
- Open Forum Europe
The work with the project is currently funded by the Sovereign Tech Agency.
